Guiding Centenary 2010

This year the Guide movement celebrates its centenary. Just a dozen or so years after the foundation Walter Starmer (in 1921) painted a Girl Guide on the ceiling of the Lady Chapel at St Jude's.

To the left in the 'eminent women' scheme there is also a Brownie holding what appears to be a skipping rope.

The first Brownie group was organised in 1914.
